This week I found a great tool for finding out learning style. Have a look at it. I am going to use it next school year for my students. What Is Your Learning Style? | Edutopia
You have created a great blog for your students! As I see from the pictures, you use lots of techniques to teach your class. What a nice computer lab you have! As for learning styles, I like to apply logic style. There's a joke that English grammar has more exceptions than rules, but I always tell students, that there is an explanation for all exceptions. Usually teachers like saying "You have to memorize it, this is an exception", I try to show my students the origin of the exception. I think it is easier to remember the rules and exceptions when you know the story why or how it happened.
Did you try to find out what learning style you have? I'm more into visual-spatial and naturalistic. Guess I like to work outdoor rather than staying inside. Do you think our learning style as a teacher reflect our teaching style as well? I believe it does, a little bit. Because I like learning outdoor, I took my students outdoor too. I don't know if it's good or not for them but I think they like it. What about you and your class?
I think you are right, learning style has direct connection with teaching style. I did test with Edutopia, I have added the results in the post above. As you see, I am hybrid as many others, but with my students I like staying in the classroom or computer lab :)
